Chocolate Cake

Yes, another chocolate cake! I cut in in half and put raspberry jam and strawberries in it.

It tasted beautiful, but needed to be a bit higher. More bicarb soda next time!

Wedding Food!

The wedding was lovely. Bride looked amazing, etc. Now onto the sweets!

We all had a little bag of chocolates by our name tag. The bags had little notes in them. Mine said "You don't marry someone you can live with- you marry the person you can't live without." Sweet! One of my counterparts at the table got a Shakespeare quote.

Dessert was great! There were two desserts- mine, which was Tri Choc and a Mini Cheesecake. Tri Choc had chocolate fudge, a strawberry dipped in chocolate and chocolate brownies. The brownies were so moist, loved it! The fudge wasn't as chocolatey as I thought it should be, but it still tasted great. Strawberries in chocolate are always good!

The mini cheese cake. My friend told me it was very yummy. How cute is it?!

I forgot to get a photo of the uncut wedding cake, but I did get one of my piece! It was VERY rich.

These little cupcakes were from the post-wedding lunch the next day. I still have some. Kawaii!

Stay sweet!

Wedding Sweets Special!

My boyfriend's brother is getting married. You know what that means!

Wedding Sweets Special!

I'm so exited about the desserts and sweets! I'll have to remember to write down what I eat, it's hard to remember the names of every thing. Woo! Expensive sweets!

Stay sweet!

Chocolate Madness 2

My friend and I went to Knox and HAD to have chocolates, so where else would we go but the Theobroma Chocolate Lounge?

My friend got these two. An Orange Champagne Cream Heart and a Raspberry Heart. From the noises she was making, I assume they tasted fantastic! She also got a very nice-looking ice coffee.

I got a Jaffa Heart, a Passionfruit Spear and a chai latte. Loved them!

The Jaffa Heart was pretty intense. Jaffa is such an underrated flavour!
As I've said before, get yo asses to the Theobroma Chocolate Lounge ASAP!

Vanilla Custard in Maple Syrup

Another triumph of a dessert made by my mum!
The custard was swimming in maple syrup, it was like a custard pancake. She baked in in the oven, too. And everyone knows that berries make anything more awesome!

Mango Pudding and Coconut & Azuki Bean Squares

After having a badass Chinese lunch with my boyfriend and friend in Box Hill today, we walked over the road to a bakery to get some dessert. We ended up in the Vegie Bakery. Lovely little place.

The pudding was like jelly in consistency and the flavour was pretty delicate. Very nice!

The squares were called 'Snow Somethings'. Very creamy and soft and gooey! These also had a delicate, subtle flavour, so you could really taste the coconut that was covering them.

There wasn't much azuki in them, but it was still a good purchase by our friend!
I'd like to go back to Vegie Bakery and buy some tea leaves- there is a whole wall full of tea!

Deep Fried Icecream

Had dinner with friends at Kingsland Chinese Restaurant in Boronia. The dinner was lovely, but for dessert my friend got deep fried icecream. Flaming, deep fried icecream.

I haven't had fried icecream since I was a kid, so in the interest of my many, many readers (:P) I had a few little bites. I don't know what the batter was made of, but it tasted fantastic! The icecream had a chunk of something in the middle. My friend said:

"I think it might have been biscuit but it might also have been delicious veins of batter melted their way inside and frozen/fried. Either way it was delicious."

Chocolate Madness

Yesterday I went to the Theobroma Chocolate Lounge at Knox City to try that chocolate which looks like a ceramic tile. I couldn't stay away any longer! I also bought a milk-chocolate hot chocolate. They also have dark and white and caramel.

It. Was. Amazing. Imagine all the best easter eggs you've ever eaten, liquefied. It was like one of those gold Lindt bunnies, except you can drink it.

It was kept warm by a little tea light candle inside the mug holder.

The chocolates were divine. I got a Red Diamond and a Pineapple something (tile). They almost look too good to eat!

But eat them I did. They rocked! The pineapple tile tasted fantastic. I'd say it tastes how it looks- if 'ornate' has a taste, it's that chocolate.
The whole experience of sitting with that drink and those chocolates was very leisurely, relaxing and indulgent.

If you haven't been to Theobroma Chocolate Lounge yet, I highly recommend it!

Rum and Raisin Pudding

Another triumphant dessert made by my mum! Gluten-free, as always.
Rum compliments sweetness in such a decadent way, I love it!

Rich, creamy AND topped with melted chocolate! The chocolate icecream was almost overkill, but it was amazing. Raisins are something that I don't eat enough of. It was lovely to have some in such a creative dessert.

Chocolate Chilli Bomb

Today I went to my favourite place to get a chai latte- Kofi Beans in Croydon- and I couldn't say no to their range of little chocolates.
I love the atmosphere in that place. It's full to the brim of Moroccan furniture, lanterns, mirrors and knick knacks. Very expensive stuff, but it's beautiful.

This is a Chilli Bomb, it rocks. The dark chocolate was smooth, the chilli had a lovely warm burn which always goes well with chocolate and...

the filling was a rich brandy-flavoured fudge! Loved it. Try one!

Chocolate Mousse

My friend and I shared this insanely rich dessert at Kublai Mongolian Restaurant in Croydon on the weekend.

My friend called it "Sickeningly rich." I agree with her! Thank god we were sharing it!

I made some chocolate mousse when I was younger, all by myself and it turned out AWESOME. Should try my hand at it again.

Vanilla and Chocolate Marble Cake

This is the vanilla and chocolate marble cake I made. The icing was SO rich and delicious, but I think it was too rich- it never dried! It just melted little by little every day. That's what I get for trying that Betty Crocker ready-made crap. Also, I left it on the counter.

Loved this cake. It was so moist and fluffy!
The marbling was slightly more difficult than I thought it would be. The instructions made it sound easier than it was!

This is the best shot that shows the marbling. Next time I'll know what to do!

Raspberry and Lime Iced Tea

Yesterday my friend and I went into the city and had lovely iced tea at Oriental Teahouse. Loved the Raspberry and Lime, sweeeeeeet! My friend had Strawberry Cream iced tea. It had vanilla in it, very smooth.
It's a really funky place! They had a great tea and cocktail menu. I'm definitely going there the next time I'm in the city, love to have some yum cha and sample more teas, like so.

Chocolate Cake

I forgot to take a photo of the whole delicious chocolate cake, so you can't see how awesomely chocolate the icing was. Rest assured, it was fantastic.

Bread and Butter Pudding

As per the fortnightly family dinner, mum made another fantastic dessert- bread and butter pudding with panettone.

"Why isn't my bowl full yet, eh?"

I love panettone but only really get to eat it around xmas. It tastes like it has some kind of booze in it. Perhaps it's just the raisins fermenting?

It might look a but gloopy there, but it's delicious!

Green Tea and Azuki Buns

My very favourite place to get sweets is Bread Top. One of my favourite things to buy from there is a bag of the green tea and sweet red bean paste buns.
They also make a purple bun with taro inside and almonds on top.

They are heaven! $4 a bag!

I'm interested to make my own. Surely you can buy azuki paste in Box Hill.

Iced Berry Tea

Today my friend took my boyfriend and I into Theobroma Chocolate Lounge in Knox Ozone. I'd never been there before. It was pretty hot so I got a lovely berry iced tea. It was so refreshing!
The chocolates there look amazing and will definitely be featured here some time in the future. There was a chocolate that looked like a ceramic tile.
They have chocolate spoons. White, milk and dark chocolate spoons! Come the bitter, permafrost, Melbourne winter, I'm sure that I will be enjoying a hot chocolate and white chocolate spoon there.

Lemon Tart

Every second Monday everyone goes to my mum's house for dinner. She always makes an awesome dessert and last night she made that. It was amazing! It melted in my mouth!

The recipe came from a gluten-free dessert cookbook.

Choc-Chip and Coconut Cheesecake

This entirely appetising cheesecake was for my boyfriend's birthday. It was incredibly rich, as you'd expect from The Cheesecake Shop!
Every slice was so indulgent. You have to pace yourself with a food like that!

Fruit and Custard Tart

The moment I saw these in the Nagambie bakery I had to have one. You can see why!

If you're ever driving through Nagambie you should stop and get one of these charming little tarts and eat it by the beautiful Nagambie River.
